Memento Mori: Review

No matter how regrettable to recognize some facts, you have to come to terms with the obvious: the 3D era has long come and strengthened. Today, almost every self -respecting studio tries to match the trends, releasing "Well, at least a little three -dimensional" Games. However, the third dimension began to penetrate the adventure production relatively recently. And it is not surprising, because the quest genre is in some way a stepson of the gaming industry. The budget, which is considered very modest for an RPG project or strategy, not to mention the action, is just a gift of fate for adventure.

Developers from the Czech studio Centauri Production did everything possible and impossible to reach the coveted three -dimensionality. It is a pity that in some places, in pursuit of graphics, they missed the main thing – the atmosphere.

Hello, Peter!

Action Memento Mori occurs in Russia. Not all events, but most of them, coupled with the tie. The player is waiting for St. Petersburg with a unique Hermitage, from which three old canvases were mysteriously carried out, replacing them with copies. Two people will have to investigate this incident: Interpol employee Larisa Svetlova and the artist with the dark past Max Duran. In the process of promotion after the trail, the heroes will stumble upon an ancient and powerful Finnish Order, associated with the tradition of the Angel of Death.

We are allowed to play alternately by a girl and a man (however, you can switch between the characters not when you want, but when the conventions allow). It is they who – protagonists – are one of the most significant disappointments in Memento Mori.

First, both "investigator" almost completely deprived of what is now fashionable to call "Charisma". They are abstract. Although traces of desperate attempts to provide heroes with individuality are observed – in the form of long and not always appropriate comments with which the characters supply the surrounding reality. Alas, semantic content as "conversations with themselves", and dialogs with NPC, leaves the impression of a certain continuous "verbal diarrhea", forcing to doubt the mental abilities of our wards. So, both Larisa and Max, for some reason, repeat the same thought eight times, even speaking of various objects or phenomena. Probably, the goal of implementing such a technique is a constant reminding the player about the current task. But the result kills the beginnings of the atmosphere "In the root".

However, like the exaggerated emotionality of the heroes about and without it. Когда обнаруживается пропажа картин или выясняются детали смерти некоторых второстепенных персонажей – заламывание рук и закатывание глаз выглядит естественно. But if the cause of hysteria is a discharged phone or interrupted lecture, I really want to bring to Max and Larisa Valerian, so as not to worry about trifles. No, we understand that their work is harmful, nervous ..

Moment – and in the morgue!

The second https://brikitt.com/pgs/royal-lama-casino-why-players-are-flocking-to-this-new-platform.html great disappointment associated with the heroes is their graphic embodiment. The developers probably wanted to surprise us, making a pretty red girl a central acting person. Most likely, they were going to replenish the shortage of red-haired girls in Advents (offhand can recall at least three recent detective games, where the heroine-investigator was just that). And also the creators Memento Mori For some reason, they are sure that the female figure is teeming with a variety of angles in the most unimaginable places. And the pigtail’s pigtail is usually glued to the back, so when walking or running does not move.

But enough about the characters – back to the gameplay, who left a very dual impression. Many puzzles are interesting, tasks are usually understandable and logical, a game is held without any problems. The main storyline is quite competitive both as a detective and as a mystical story. The backlighting of objects is convenient and almost completely saves from the horrors of pixelhanting. It would seem: live and rejoice?

But no. We have to solve hundreds of small and uninteresting problems like connecting a charger to a phone or a discount of a disc to a third -rate character who is not related to the script. Dialogs overloaded with repetitions, moreover, are of little interest in essence, since only a fifth of all discussions applies directly to the abduction. Other conversations – practically nothing.

Diagnose Memento Mori difficult. Undoubted positive features – in stock. But flaws, insignificant at first glance, ultimately deprive the game of highlights and atmosphere. The stone flower did not come out from the developers. And sorry.

Pros: pleasant graphics; An interesting plot idea.
Cons: boring gameplay, dialogs;false emotions;Ugly characters.
